July 12, 2004 Wireless e-mail: Getting the most out of mobile devices E-mail is the backbone of corporate communications. With a more mobile workforce and increasing dependency on timely communications, wireless e-mail access is becoming a requirement. The key issue, according to Yankee Group, is how to deploy and managed wireless e-mail cost-effectively. The research firm estimates that at minimum 35 million U.S. workers could benefit from mobile e-mail access. However, cost, security and the lack of widespread geographical coverage are clear and present hurdles slowing down adoption.
